Quis Custodiet?

One of Indonesia's leading newspapers, Kompas, ran the above-the-fold headline today that said, "Political Corruption is Systemic."

Wait for it...

NO SHIT SHERLOCK.

Why is it that people are continuously surprised by the obvious?  I mean, if you always do what you've always done, you'll always get what you've always gotten.  It's one of those basic rules in life that we all have to learn.

Corruption is endemic to ANY political system.  Any time a group of people is empowered to take the productive work of any other group of people for supposed services rendered, there will be corruption.  It is a fact of life that is as old as government itself, especially when that power involves a bureaucracy to maintain the systems of government.

The way it works is this: first a government will create a list of "services" that it performs for the general populace; then it creates a bureaucracy to shuffle the paperwork to obtain those services; then the piles of paperwork grow to the point that obtaining those services takes months, if not years; then the bureaucrats start taking bribes to "expedite" applications; then the politicians all want a cut of the bribes.

It's a very simple process from A to Z, and when the politicians and bureaucrats continue to get away with the corruption, it reinforces the system of corruption and it continues to grow and become more endemic until it either becomes completely stalled and untenable, or the people rise up and throw the bastards out.  History tells us that one or the other is inevitable.

One of the key signs of a fascist state is that the legal code becomes so complex and Byzantine that the average citizen is a felon just for waking up in the morning.  This creates a system of corruption as the citizens try to maneuver their way through this system without going to jail.  Naturally, the citizen is willing to pay whatever it takes to stay "free" and out of the tangled nightmare that is The System.  Naturally, the politicians and bureaucrats are willing to take the money to leave people alone.

Until the last couple of years, Indonesians have been very provincial.  They could not afford to leave the country, so they had no experience with other governments and other systems.  Therefore, they tended to see their own system as being the most corrupt, and others (like the US) as less so.

Indonesians demanded, and received, a governmental body called the KPK (corruption eradication commisiion), whose job it was to investigate and punish corruptors.  However, it too became corrupt as the politicians and bureaucrats, swollen with bribe money, were willing to pay the overseers a portion of their take to stay out of the spotlight.

It goes as far back as Ovid, the Roman poet, who asked the famous question, "Quid custodiet ipsos custodies?"  Who will watch the watchers?  It is a problem as old as civilization itself.

What it comes down to is human nature and what Lord Acton so rightly observed, "Power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely."

The more centralized and remote power systems become, the more corrupt and uncontrollable they become.  It is a fact that cannot be disputed.  It is human nature to become more corrupt as the ability to catch and hold a person responsible for their actions becomes less of a threat.

Ultimately, this is the central problem with a global government.  Ironically, it is also the reason that it will never come to be.

The problem is this: as we plod ever closer to a central world government, the more corrupt those at the core will become.  In the end, they will factionalize and begin infighting the closer ultimate power comes to reality.  Finally, the whole thing will collapse as the sharks begin feeding on each other for every shred of power they can secure.

It has already begun.  Joseph Farrell, in his book Babylon's Banksters, makes a compelling case for the fact that the erstwhile global governors are already eating each other for ultimate control.  Ultimate control means ultimate corruption, and no system that is totally corrupt can stand.  It must, of its own corruption, collapse.

Many books have been written on the rise and fall of great empires.  Without exception, they are studies in corruption and decay.

Therefore, it stands to reason that the least corrupt governments are the most likely to survive and offer the best possible state for the citizenry.  Given the fact that large systems collapse, it is thus only small and controllable governments that work best.  For that reason, decentralized regional governments are the most feasible, and governments on the level of communities are the best.  It must be kept in mind, though, that any amount of power will corrupt any number of bureaucrats.

We end up with the most logical solution to this mess we humans tend to create: the government of ONE is the best possible form of rule.  If the individual becomes corrupt, he cannot infect more than what he can control, and all he can control is that which he owns.

Many people ridicule this idea as 'anarchy', but it is what the libertarians call "enlightened self-government".  The individual will do everything possible to protect what is his, thus he will avoid corruption in order to enlist the support of others (friends, family, etc.) in his effort to protect his possessions.  The theory is that the less corrupt a person is, the more likely others are to assist him.

In the end, 'anarchy' produces the best form of governance for any group of people.  Those who are least corrupt will engender the most support and goodwill from the most number of people, and so will be the most successful.

Vendors who routinely short-change customers will not stay in business for long.  In the same way, in an anarchic system, only those who are perceived to be the most honest will receive support of large groups of people.

Anarchy does not require voting, which can be corrupted (a la United States).  It does not require licenses, deeds, titles, or any other form of bureaucracy, since those who perceive you to be honest in your public dealings will most likely protect your interests against outside challenges.  Anarchy requires individuals to be honest, upright and competent.  It is the nature of that system.

The minute I delegate power to someone else, then they -- no matter how honest and trustworthy -- will have the temptation to become corrupt and abuse your power, since it is not theirs and they perceive no loss to themselves in squandering what is yours.

The solution is deceptively simple, and it is the most likely to protect rights and property, but it is also the most difficult thing to convince people of this fact.  We have become so used to centralized government and we have become so spoiled by the ability to leach off the productivity of others (welfare, socialized medicine, etc.) that we cannot see any other solution.  Yet the logic is inescapable.

Under the system we currently subscribe to, we have only escalating layers of 'watchers', creating ever more vast bureaucracies, engendering ever more corruption and in-fighting for control.  It is an untenable system and must collapse of its own weight and corruption.

Two of the most successful governments on Earth are the Icelandic and Swiss systems because they leave the greatest amount of power in the hands of the individuals.  However, as we have seen in recent years, even those systems are subject to corruption, though they are the most able to deal with it, since the power is still closest to the individual.

In a system of delegation of power, the individual is most likely to get run over by that system, since the inherent mentality is that the good of the many is more important than the good of the individual.  But, the opposite is true.

When the individual feels secure in person and property, he is more likely to work on behalf of the group, since he will have surplus that he is able to deploy in the community to build the perception that he is a good and trustworthy person, thus reinforcing the desire of the community to protect his rights and property.

So-called anarchy -- or enlightened self-interest -- is the only system of governance that can possibly work over the long term, while preserving the rights and property of the individual.  It is the only system that is self-righting, automatically correcting corruption and similar problems.  There is only one weakness...

Humans have an in-born desire to serve a leader.  It is part of our genetic code and is pounded into our brains from birth, though education, religion and other community forces.  As long as humans view themselves as servants, both willing to hand over power and accept scraps from a master's table, then we will have the corruption and decay and power-hungry elites that we have suffered under for millennia.

It is only when we, as individuals, take full responsibility for our actions and well-being that we will throw off the yoke of government that is corrupt and ultimately self-defeating.

The only thing wrong with anarchy is that it has never been tried on any scale that could prove the point.  As a species, we have been so hell-bent on servitude that we don't even trust ourselves to act in our own best interest.  Rather, we must establish organs of State (and make no mistake, religion is an organ of State) to force us to do what we know is best for us in the first place.

If you do not delegate your power, then no one will have power over you.

So simple, yet so hard to achieve.

I Walked, I Crawled, Iran

Hey kids!  Welcome to another exciting round of DoubleThink, the game where we train ourselves to be unthinking mules serving the evil faceless Massah!

Today's exercise:

• 2001 Iraq - al Qaeda is our enemy, they have always been our enemy.
• 2011 Libya- al Qaeda is our friend.  They have always been our friend.
• 2012 Syria - al Qaeda is our enemy, they have always been our frie...enemy.  (Oops...)

OK, got that square now?  And while we're at it, China is our life-blood, I mean they want to destroy us, I mean our economic partner, I mean...  You can insert Russia in there too, since we hate them again, but we can't get to our nice little space station without them.

Sorry, I don't buy any of it.  I'm cursed with being able to remember more than two minutes ago.

Today, I keep seeing the headline that Iran wants to blow up the Statue of Liberty.  That's so much hog-wash on so many levels.  Let's look at a few.

First, the source is ex-CIA.  Now, I don't know about you, but when I see the letters 'c', 'i' and 'a' followed by the word 'says,' I immediately close out everything that follows.  That organization was founded by Nazi left-overs and has gone down hill ever since.  Every singe word, bar none, that comes out of the CIA is complete rubbish, even if they tell you the time and it agrees with the atomic clock at the Naval Observatory.

Second, the Statue of Liberty was a gift from that shining become of liberty and democracy, France.  I was meant to symbolize the freedom enjoyed by the citizens of the country over which the statue stands.  However, everything it symbolizes has been trampled under foot, shredded, burned, and shat upon.  It was a process that began in 1861, with the War of Yankee Aggression, and was completed with the passage of the USA Patriot Act in 2002.  Frankly, everything the statue was meanth to symbolize is but a distant memory, even for us old farts.

Third, assuming the US strikes first on Iran, they have every moral and legal right to strike back in any way they can.  Sorry, but that's the God's honest truth.  I don't care how much hysterical non-sense the Israelis and US lapdogs spew, if the US strikes first, Iran has the right to defend itself, including striking the US mainland if it can.  And of all the countries the US has shat on over the past century or so, Iran certainly has the ability to hit back.

That statement may shock some of the more gullible readers whose conditioning is a bit deeper than the rest.  So we should probably examine it a bit, just to make sure no one walks away thinking I am promoting the idea.  I'm simply pointing out the moral and legal right, under Natural Law and centuries of international law, for a country to attack an invader and defend itself.  In fact, it's a fundamental right recognized in US law.  Shooting a home invader in most States will not get the home owner charged with a crime.

Since the deeply conditioned readers will point to all of Iran's crimes, lets examine them for a moment to make sure we're not missing anything.

Iran is developing nukes.  OK, so what?  Both of the countries making endless noise about attcking Iran are up to their eye-teeth in nukes.  The US has actually dropped nukes on Japan, and used DU ammunition in several countries, which is just as bad, radiation-wise.  The Israelis have used DU ammo, as well as dropped burning phosphorous on innocent populations.  If I were Iran, I'd be working my ass off to get a couple of nukes by sometime tomorrow.

Iran is developing nuclear reactors.  Yo...bozo...every developed nation on Earth has them.  Even Indonesia.  In fact, Japan has poisoned the entire northern hemisphere with a couple of theirs.  If Iran wants a couple to diversify their grid, and they're willing to put up with the risks that less intelligent nations have taken, that's their business.

Iran is a threat.  Iran hasn't invaded another nation in over 300 years.  It's last war was against Iraq, who invaded them, and were supported by the US who gave Saddam Hussein illegal chemical and biological weapons to use on the Iranians who were lawfully defending their nation.  The only overt threats Iran has made are to retaliate against any aggressor.  Fair enough.

Iran destroyed the US embassy and took prisoners back in 1980.  A bit late to get 'em for that, don't you think?  Besides, they were rather upset at having been manipulated by the US and UK for a century, and having rather unpleasant dictators installed over them and supported by same.  Frankly, any flatulent red-neck arm-chair general in Podunk, USA would have done the same...or at least sent the neightbor's kid to do it.

Iran's navy just docked in Syria and they are building up their military.  Well, duh.  Siryah's president invited them and the Russians.  They didn't invite the US, which is hovering offshore like a swarm of killer bees, but which docks itself in other nations' ports all the time.  Of course, the US calls it goodwill missions, but I hardly think having nuclear-capable ships loaded with all kinds of weapons as a hearty show of good faith.  On the other hand, this is the first time I can remember ever hearing about Iran's navy going anywhere outside of their territorial waters.

Iran cut off oil to the UK and France.  And...your point is?  Those two have done far worse to Iran, and for far longer.  Besides, how smart would it be to sell fuel to a bunch of jerks who are going to turn around and shoot it back at you?  The US has been kicking its collective ass for doing that with Japan for 60 years.  I call that rather intelligent on the part of the Iranians.

Iran wants to take gold and other currency, instead of dollars, for their oil.  Yup, it's THEIR oil, and given the general state of the US dollar right now, I don't blame them.  I don't accept dollars, either.  I always lose money on the exchange rates.  I prefer rupiah or yuan, myself.  Can't fault the Iranians there.  And since it's THEIR oil, they can accept dirt clods and cow pies for it, if they wanted.

Any other points?  As far as I can see, Iran has been more than patient in the face of a global campaign to smear them.  They have shown remarkable poise and restraint in the face of highly aggressive sanctions and military build-ups off their coast, not to mention the dozens of US military bases that surround them.

They have held their hand even though the US has amitted that Israel has been conducting covert acts of war on Iranian soil, going as far as outright murder of Iranians worldwide.

The point of all this is, if the US attacks Iran unprovoked and based solely on the shabby excuses enumerated here, then Iran has every right to fight back.  That includes bombing US cities and cultural (albeit useless) icons.  Anyone who gets upset by that is a hardcore idiot, or evil, or both.

For too long, the US has attacked other nations with impunity, partly because they have selected poor, unarmed countries, and partly because those countries haven't had the ability to project force at a distance.  However, as the US becomes more and more aggressive, and attacks more nations unprovoked, eventually it will run afoul of a nation who can strike back, and who might have bigger friends willing to help.

Bullies can go on for a long time, but they never go on forever.  Eventually, someone gets tired enough and has nothing to lose by hitting back.  The bully is rarely ready for it, and he usually run away in terror when it finally happens.

The US is already showing signs of fear.  The development of unmanned drones and robotic soldiers is a sure sign that someone in the Pentagram is getting cold feet.  They are sending machines to do a man's job, because they know they are wrong and aren't willing to show their faces.

The good people of the US had better stand up to their rogue government and shut down its Death Squads before one of the kids on the block gets tired and starts punching back.  Americans aren't ready for that.  No living American has seen war on their own streets.  They've never walked past bombed out houses next door or stepped over shredded bodies on the way to the grocery store.

American will scream bloody murder (literally and metaphorically) when it happens.  They will hop up and down wanting revenge, not remembering the death and destruction on their own hands.  It has all been sanitized and packaged for them on the evening propaganda.  It's all very theoretical and far away from them. But what happens when it's your neighborhood and your neighbors?  What happens when Joe Sixpack is kneeling in the rubble of his house holding the torn body of his oldest child?

It's all scenes that the US has caused in other countries countless numbers of times over the past 60 years.  Are Americans ready to live what they have doled out?

I seriously doubt it.

Americans need to seriously consider these facts when they are pulling the voting levers over the next couple of months.  They need to ponder these scenes when writing their checks to the IRS not long after that.  They are playing with fire and not questioning the consequences.

Go read up on the sacking of Rome.  Without a severe change of course, it can and will come to your home soon enough.  As the US economy falters and it weakens from the inside, the wolves at the door are growing in number.  They are pacing, watching and waiting.  Eventually, the US will make a mistake or show a weakness, and the wolves will pounce.

All those Bible-thumping presidential candidates seem to have forgotten one of the best-known lines in the whole book, "He who lives by the sword shall die by it."

It's all fine and good when the Home Team is winning, but the streak will end and it will be nasty.  Might want to prepare youself.  Kids who play with matches get burned.

Those Who Forget History

On this date, in 1492, Cristobol Columbus, an Italian (Genoan) sailing under the flag of Spain and funded by the Catholic Empire through the pockets of the Spanish king, first caught sight of land at what we generally call Hispanola today.  Hispanola, of course, means Little Spain, and Columbus dubbed the people already living there 'indians,' since his best intel was that he had found the east coast of India.

Columbus did not discover the so-called New World.  His mission was to sail south of the Northern Lands and find a route to Asia that was tradeable.  At that time, North America was well-known in academia.  New Vinland, off the coast of modern Canada, had been a Viking colony for centuries.  An Irish monk had produced a map in 1135, that clearly showed the coast as far south as the current Cape Cod.  Other secret maps showed the east coast of North America and South America, though the central regions were still blank.  Some maps also show parts of Antarctica, while others clearly show the Northern Passage, long before Columbus came along.

But, the well-known northern route was impassable half the year, and dangerous the other half.  Plus, it only came to that annoying thing called the Northern Lands, that stood between Europe and the gold and spices of India and the Spice Islands (Indonesia).  The overland route to get there was treacherous, and the sea route had to cross Cape Hope at the southern tip of Africa, which was famous for ship-wrecking storms.  The Ming emperors of China were laying claim to overland routes and attacking any caravans that didn't pay tribute.

Meanwhile, Admiral Zheng He was doing pretty much what Columbus did, only 50 years earlier.  He was sent by the Ming emperor to map and discover new trade routes, and also to claim everything he found in the name of the emperor.  Though disputed, there is evidence that he landed in modern California and mapped at least part of the west coast of North America.  Zheng describes a plant in his logs that looks and sounds a lot like a prickly pear cactus, which only grows in the Americas.  Rock carvings and glyphs have also been found in California bearing characters that look a lot like old forms of Chinese.

There is even more evidence, completely rejected by the Catholic hierarchy, and thus western civilization, that trade flourished between South America and ancient Egypt.  A great many mummies in Egypt have tested positive of cocaine, which could only come from South America.  There are many other lines of research, as well, that would ties the Old and New Worlds together centuries, if not millennia, before Columbus.  So what, exactly, did Columbus discover, and what was his real mission?

Evidence has come to light in recent years, including the discovery of one of Columbus' wrecked ships, that the hull and keel designs for his ships was radically new.  Supposedly imparting greater speed and maneuverability, these designs were state secrets of Spain until the 1980s.  The king of Spain had given Columbus three of these vessels to test in open ocean as part of the deal.

Zheng He

Columbus had pitched the deal to the king by noting the gap between North and South America on the super secret documents of the time, probably by combining some of the best of the maps.  He proposed that the gap between the continents offered a route through to southeast Asia, thus avoiding the overland routes controlled by the Ming, and sneaking in the backdoor to load up on all those riches.

He also wanted to find tradeable wind currents that would allow travel much father south than the perilous northern Atlantic.  Navigators there were stuck for six months of the year, and ice floes presented major hazards for the other six months.  A more southerly route, both coming and going, would be a major coupe and give the one who possessed that knowledge wealth beyond calculation.

In fact, Columbus believed he had landed in the eastern extent of Indonesia, when in fact, he had hit an island in the Caribbean.  Seeing no other imperial flags around (i.e. the Ming), he stuck Spain's flag in the sand and claimed the land for the Holy Roman Empire.

In the east, Zheng had done much the same thing in southeast Asia, Australia, India, and the Middle East.

Certainly, if Columbus could find the backdoor, it would provide invaluable military advantage.  By this point in history, Europe had been threatened by Attila the Hun and Jengis Khan.  If the Holy Roman Empire had a means to flank an Eastern army, they would have tremendous tactical advantage in the event of another invasion.

In other words, 500 years later, we are replaying the trade wars that first ignited in the 1400s.  East versus West, competing to see who will control which lands and trade routes.  Staking out territory and performing an elaborate dance in order to avoid direct confrontation.

Things never change.

Today, China is staking out its client states and sphere of influence, and the Anglo-American Empire is doing the same.  It involves not only trade and access to mineral wealth, but now has taken to the skies.  The Anglo-Americans have staked out near-Earth orbit with their space station, and the Chinese have launched the first section of their own station, with the second piece to follow next month.  Both sides are still vying for military and economic advantage over the other.  And the brown and black skins are again annoying cannon fodder in the middle, squatting on all that wealth that the empires need to feed their greed.

It serves the interests of the Western Empire to keep these things secret and foster fairy tales like Columbus discovering the New World.  One, it hides the vicious and bloody truth, and two it promotes a benign farce that Westerners have just been casual explorers, wanting to find new things and meet new people.  One has to only read "Bury My Heart At Wounded Knee," to know that this fairy tale is all but true.

What all of this highlights is that current events are nothing more than the playing out of centuries-long global conquest.  The battles have flared up and receded, but the same currents that began even before the Crusades are still influencing modern headlines.  There has been a war raging between East and West for far longer than most of us know or admit.  Because most of us stopped reading and learning somewhere around high school, we labor under the illusions cast over our eyes, and are unable to see the currents of time swirling through our lives.

Our educations have left us crippled and blind.  We were taught by rote, memorizing 'facts' and regurgitating them on tests.  Once we left school, we figured all that 'old stuff' didn't have anything to do with our modern lives.  We just needed to remember October 12, 1492, to pass the test.  What did anything else matter?  There were girls to chase and things to do, and then families and mortgages and car payments.  Who cared about Columbus?

Someone cares, because the battle, of which he was a small part, is still raging and still impacting our lives.  At the highest levels in both East and West, someone hasn't forgotten, and they are still pushing their agendas written centuries ago.  It's as real as the feud between the Amish families that led to the beard cuttings just recently.  These things have been going on forever, but from the outside, they look like strange isolated events without context.  And since it wasn't our beard, we go about our business after a brief chuckle, having no clue about why and having no interest in finding out.

In fact, it is this very history that has kept the truth about UFOs and ruins on other planets and evidence of life "out there" hidden from most of us.  The Brookings Report of 1960 recognized what cultures with superior technology do to those without.  They looked at the history of Columbus and Zheng and all the rest, and saw that advanced cultures always decimate the lessers.  Even the concept of 'advanced' based solely on guns and indoor plumbing is a conceit to justify egregious actions against who are perfectly happy not engineering the world.

At this very moment, there is a tribe here in Indonesia whose society is commonly termed 'Stone Age.'  They are perfectly happy that way and have avoided contact with the world at large.  But, they made a fatal mistake.  Their ancestral lands were set atop one of the richest tin deposits ever found.  Now a French company is in the process of destroying these people and their way of life to get to the dirt under them.  What's the bet they've already stuck a flag in it?

So, along we go on our merry ways, not a care in the world.  No one looks to see what has gone before to understand where we are.  At the bare minimum, we owe it to ourselves to find out why mistakes were made before, and try to avoid them.  More useful would be to understand our compulsion for empire, and the death and destruction it carries.  Then maybe, just maybe, folks could live in peace and pursue their individual enlightenment and happiness.

Or we could just destroy more people for money.

At the entrance of my office building, they have a security check.  Everyone is required to walk through a metal detector.  Most mornings, it is clearly unplugged and the cable is lying on the floor in plain sight.  Despite this obvious shortcoming, people dutifully empty their pockets of all metal objects before stepping through the portal.

They imploded Iceland.  It was insignificant and out of the way.  It could safely be brought to its knees without endangering too much of the chess board.  It worked.  Its economy was leveled and no one saw through the machinations and started shooting the banksters.  But for a little noise in the background, no one even blamed the banksters.  In fact, the implosion was perfectly engineered and the country fell precisely into its own footprint.

Next, they wanted to try it on one of the great ancient powers.  If they could bring that great seat of learning, culture and power down to dust, they could do anything.

So, they imploded Greece.  It worked perfectly.  Not only did they bring an ancient empire to its knees, the people came to the banksters on their knees to beg for more.

That wasn’t enough.  They had to try it on some other major powers, both old and new.  They turned their jaundiced eyes to the next jewels in the crown.  And down came Italy, Spain and Portugal.  Just for good measure, they took out the ancient seat of Druidic power and levelled  Ireland, while they were at it.

The Plan was perfect.  The people not only didn’t attack the real criminals, they came hat in hand to the very people who destroyed their countries to ask for more of the same!  They had worked for centuries to bring the great powers of the world   Not only had they completely taken over those old world powers, the people hardly raised a whimper in protest, at least against the true perpetrators.

In their hubris, and emboldened by their perceived success, they turned their slavering, greed-ridden attention on the real prizes: France, Britain, Germany, and finally America.

America was the real prize.  Here was the once-great powerhouse of global economics.  It sparked an era of innovation and growth and creativity, the likes of which the world hadn’t seen since the Renaissance.  It was also the largest group of armed and independent-minded folks on the planet.  They would have to step lightly.

It started with warrantless wiretaps and drug wars.  No one started shooting (at them).  Then they took the legal bindings off of the banks.  No one noticed.

Then they openly attacked the country and used it as a pretext for creating wars and destroying the last vestiges of the legal system.  Finally, they started herding the population like sheep and groping their most private zones with impunity.  A few shouts and whimpers, but still no revolt.

They had won.  It was over.  If the American people, armed to the teeth and with a cultural heritage of individual sovereignty and independence, could be corralled, fondled, forcibly drugged, and made to beg for more, then there was no power on Earth that could stop them.

Now they have let down the mask.  They have shown their hand.  Their minions openly speak of conquest and subjugation, and the people climb over each other for more of the same.  All the banksters in their Temples of the Sun, all the judges in their Temples of Saturn, all the groping idiots who think they can curry favor by helping the Darkness…all of them are disposable.  They all think they are part of the inside, the privileged few.  They are stormtroopers, to be used like cordwood in the grand chess game.

There are only about 500 people in the world.  They rest of us are nothing.  Just sacrifices to their darkness.

I have found it amusing when people talk about things like the Mayan empire.  “How could people just allow the elite to carve out their hearts, and not get up in arms?” they ask.  I wonder the same thing, when I look at Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, and so many others in the past century.  That’s all the wars have been is public sacrifices, and the people think they are supporting great causes.  Just like the peons of the Maya, or the Inca, or any other society that allowed their elite to get out of control.

There is a sad part and a funny part to all this. 

The sad part is that so many lives have been wasted in sacrifice to the gods of the elite, whoever they might be.  Great numbers of people have suffered, and great numbers will suffer yet.  The world has been destroyed many times over by the greed and depravity of these privileged few scum-balls.

The funny part is that they have tried this again and again throughout all of history, and they have failed again and again.  There is not a single empire standing today that has lasted more than a few centuries.  They always crumble and die.

In their hubris, the elite think that if they just control enough variables, they will finally succeed in becoming Masters of the Universe.  What they completely fail to see, is that what they do is like rot.  It eats out the inside of everything they touch.  Eventually, it collapses because anything of substance has decayed, and there is nothing left to support the weight of their burden.

If the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over, expecting different results, then the elite are provably insane.  They are a bunch of in-bred psychopaths, whose family histories are riddled with the death and destruction of entire civilizations, and yet they can’t seem to understand that they are the seeds of their own destruction.

When everything you know, everything you do, everything you believe, is based on the destruction of something else, then everything you achieve will crumble and be destroyed.  That is the very nature of the Universe.  “As you sow, so shall you reap.”  Whatever you build your house with, will be the weakness of its structure. 

You can not achieve extropy with entropy.  They are diametrically opposed and can never co-exist.  You can not build a culture on destruction.  It is, by its very nature, destined to collapse.

The only possible explanation for the behavior of the elites is that they are completely and irrevocably insane.  How else does one understand their innate and burning desire to destroy all that they see, and think that they can build an empire on dust?

It is why anyone with a modicum of sense is looking around now and seeing that the world is black and rotting.  Its like end of Mel Gibson’s “Apocalypto.”  The elite have built their empire on the compete moral, ethical and physical destruction of everything around them.  At that point, it takes but a stiff breeze to topple the mightiest empires.

The student of history can see it over and over.  Babylon, Sumer, Phoenecia, Greece, Rome, Mongolia, Maya, Spain, Britain, Germany, and now the US.  They all crumble.  They all collapse.  They are all built on the destruction of something or someone else.  If the elite ever figure that out, if the masses ever snap out of their trances, then we could build something lasting.

Perhaps it is the way of the Universe to balance itself with those who create and those who destroy.  Perhaps humany’s role is to be the destructive force, so that more enlightened societies can exist elsewhere.  Perhaps life on Earth has spent vast spans of time building up and collapsing in utter ruin, in a never-ending cycle.

Moons go around planets, planets go around stars, stars go around galaxies, and galaxies go around the Universe.  Everything goes around and around.  Great societies are created, and then they die.  People build countries that live and die.  Countries build civilizations that live and die.  Civilizations build Ages that live and die.  Around and around.

In fact, the basic theme of all the great teachers in history, is stop thinking in circles.  Once you break free of the loops, then suddenly the Universe opens and vast new possibilities become available.  There is power in non-circular thinking.

The great minds of history are the ones who turn left, when everyone else keeps turning right, again and again.  Think of all the platitudes we have for non-circular thinking: the road less traveled, the high road, running around in circles.  We know what we have to do to break free, but we are afraid of the unknown.

In the end, it always comes down to: are you a tourist or a traveler?  Do you stay at Holiday Inn, eat at McDonald’s and only associate with people like you?  Or do you like those strange little roadside motels, eating at taco trucks and meeting new and interesting people?

The elite are actually just tourists.  They can’t break free of their circular logic.  They and poor, depraved minds trapped in a Hell of their own making.  They are deathly afraid of people who step out of the circle and  wonder if there might be a more interesting path.

That’s why the elite like to corral people.  That’s why the elite love order and authoritarian dogma.  They are incapable of creative thoughts and acts.  They are small, insignificant souls who have stumbled on one trick, making other minds small and insignificant like theirs.  As my mother frequently says, “Crazy people make sane people crazy.”  People are just plain lazy much of the time.

Extropy requires the input of energy.  In order to create, one must think and work, and it might fail.  That’s the way of things in a living and creative Universe.

On the other hand, entropy is easy.  The elite have spent centuries building their little model and we can just plug in and get the same, repeatable experience, just like Holiday Inn and McDonald’s.  It doesn’t take energy to follow and you don’t have to think.

That’s why cows can be herded.  They just stick their nose in the tail of the one in front of them and never think to try something different.  That is the origin of the term ‘brown nose.’  To keep vast numbers of cows in line, you need only lead the first one.  The rest just follow because they don’t know what else to do.  There’s a handful of cowboys around in case one or two step out of the herd.  But the number of cows to cowboys is ridiculously high.  If all the cows decided to go in different directions, the cowboys would be completely unable to cope.

So the next time the tail in front of you turns right, just turn left.  It’s very simple and the result is dramatic change in your life.  Remember the Jim Carrey flick, “Yes Man”?  That was the whole point.  Say yes when everyone else says no.  Turn left when they all turn right.

Break the circle!

Remember, the circle of life always leads to death.  Doesn’t it make sense that breaking the circle might lead to life?

Ifn yuh allus do wucha allus dun, yuh allus git wucha allus got.

Sometimes it just takes a Texan to figure these things out.
