I was raised, like most civilized males, to respect social mores and keep certain talk to certain places. I should be clear that certain talk was not forbidden, as it is a fundamental part of being male, but that the proper places and occasions for such talk were limited so as not to offend more delicate ears.
Despite decades of effort on the part of the PC (politically correct) Police, males - thankfully - are still males. It is a function of the Y-chromosome and no amount of whining and ear-plugging will ever change that. Gender roles are as much a function of genetics as environment.
When I was growing up, I was taught by other men that certain conversations were to be had only around other men and only in certain places, such as the locker room, the golf course, hunting trips, and bars (in proper society women were escorted to "lounges" never bars). I will catch all kinds of crap from the feminists and PC Police, but I see nothing wrong with Standard Male Bragging (SMB), in the proper context.
I am painfully aware that there has been a multi-decadal war on males. Ritalin (the drug) is primarily used to control male behavior, since kids aren't allowed to play real games anymore, and have a metric tonne of energy to blow off one way or another. Males and male behavior have been consistently demeaned and belittled, and any signs of it have been drugged and castigated until most males now are just sick to death of it.
If you have any questions why Donald Trump has risen so fast in the political arena, it is because he is unapologetically male. He speaks directly. He likes attractive women on his arm. He knows wealth and power are aphrodisiacs. His only mistake was apologizing for the Trump Tapes. It is the traitorous weasel who recorded that conversation and saved it for 11 years that ought to be castrated and hung out to dry. Trump was well within his male rights to speak the way he did among other males in the locker room context. That is what we males are all taught.
Women and children have the right to demand that men keep their baser behavior controlled and contained, but no one can demand that we deny our very nature. Nature created men to amass wealth and power so as to attract the most desirable mates, just as it created women to primp and preen and seek out the wealthy and powerful men. There is no apology for expressing our Natures, so long as it appropriate to the time and place, and the locker room is definitely the time and place for men to be men.
It strikes me as rather conspicuous that the number of wars in process or about to start are a direct consequence of denying men the right and ability to "blow off steam." And frankly, doing things like allowing transvestites into the military and striking the word "man" off of all the ranks and titles is even further pushing men into a fight. Furthermore, blasting men-talk all over Creation that was said in the appropriate time and place is yet another sick and depraved attack on all men, not just one or two.
To my admittedly and unapologetically male mind, Trump is not wrong, the media are. They knew the context of the talk. They knew full well that they do the same thing. They knowingly and hypocritically violated a social trust in a way that deserves the most vile reprehension possible.
What's really strange about all of this is that the popular media (TeeVee, Moovies, etc.) are absolutely awash with foul language and chest-beating males - reference any Marvel Moovie - yet the minute a male gets off the couch or leaves the cinema, he is battered and bashed from all sides for daring to imitate the behavior he just witnessed those "cultural heroes" performing. It's no wonder males are acting out in so many inappropriate ways; they are receiving severely disconnected messages from society and the cognitive dissonance is driving them batty.
Even I experience massive amounts of cognitive dissonance. On the one hand, my Inner Male cheers when people like Trump ignore the Whining Class and act like a real male. If for no other reason, I secretly hope he gets elected, even though my Inner Intellectual is reviled by his complete lack of historical context. Plainly, you can see my dilemma. My mental and physical selves are in constant battle over whether love the guy or run in horror.
I truly wish that America could produce a figure like Putin, and it's no wonder he is admired around the world. He is a Man's Man: intelligent, mannered, witty, wily, erudite, and is a formidable verbal sparring partner. In the real world outside the molly-coddled nanny states of US and EU, real men still exist and still admire other real men. In fact, I suspect that Hillary et al. vilify him for this very reason - he is a fine expression of the Real Man.
If Trump has had one major victory, it is on the PC front. He has put a large dent in the effort to destroy the male. He is unabashed and proudly male, and for that I salute him. In the darkest recesses of my inner-most thoughts, I secretly hope he wins, if for no other reason than to put a sock in the mouth of Political Correctness.
I fear it is too little too late, though. The damage has been done and there are generations of Western males who will never recover, and it will take generations again to repair the damage done by the Progressives and Feminists.
But I can celebrate small victories, and having the Trump Tapes fly back in the face of the PC Police is one of them. I imagine that Trump and his sons are in the locker room now, clapping each other on the back and laughing at the silly hypocrites in LaLaLand.
And honestly, I'm willing to bet that Real Women admire Real Men, and thus the species goes on.

Inconceivable!
READER NOTE: Don't forget to take the Far Side 2016 Presidential Poll!
The first rule of covert operations, once referred to as "false flag" attacks back when flags were a thing, is that one must create a plausible enemy.
One of the best dramatizations of covert operations I've ever found is The Princess Bride. Follow me here, I know it's not what you expected.
The evil Prince Humperdinck of Florin wants to attack Guilder, a neighboring country, for economic benefits. He hatches a plot to have his wildly popular bride-to-be kidnapped and specific clues left to point the finger at Guilder operatives. The plan goes awry when the anti-hero, a man dressed in black and wearing a mask called Dread Pirate Roberts, intervenes to save the future princess bride.
This brilliant and humorous film subtly shows how possible it is to create an enemy, blame it for everything wrong in your own country, and have your best-laid plans shot out from under you by someone who, on the surface, looks like a bad guy.
It also shows how comedy is often one of the best ways to deliver serious messages in a non-threatening manner.
Speaking of comedy, let's turn our attention to the US, shall we?
For months now, the US media and the Democratic Party - which includes its titular head Barack Obama - have done everything in their power to vilify the Russians, and especially Vladimir Putin. The Russians have been blames for everything from economic collapse to low-flush toilets. The US has in effect poked Russia with sharp sticks, and then runs to mommy when the bear growls. Even Hillarys clear and blatant vote-rigging in the primary elections has been blamed on nefarious Russian agents.
The truth is that the US tried to collapse the Russian economy. The US tried to shoot Putin out of the air. And the US tried to drive Putin to ruin. Why those crafty Democrats have even tried to tell us that the Russians were massing for an attack on NATO.
There is only one reason for this unbridled effort to demonize the Russians: they are to be used as a scapegoat for something big. We can only guess at the scope and nature of the plan, but the obvious part is that the Russian are being played for Guilder, and one suspects that Trump is the Dread Pirate Roberts, the vilified masked party-crasher.
The only things missing are the shrieking eels.
Don't get me wrong here - the Republicans are not innocents, they have their own plan that looks something like The Hunt for Red October. But it's the Democratic Party's Princess Bride scenario that is front-and-center at the moment.
And yes, there's a reason I often use movie plots to explain current events. The way I see it, Hollywood is the US version of a war college, where various scenarios are literally played out as a form of entertainment, both to soften the public mind by planting memes, and the other to see to which plots the public will take most kindly. Most major studio movies are behavioral modification efforts that teach audiences how to act, what to believe and what to expect. If we judge by the most prominent themes in movies, we are in for dystopian societies, apocalyptic wars and marauding aliens.
If you ever want to know what the US is planning, just watch movies.

Triumph Of Chaos
Do you live in a nation? A state? A nation-state?
If you are not sure, then you can be forgiven, since the terms are rarely defined or even discussed these days. And frankly, most of the political turmoil in the world today can be traced directly to efforts to dissolve the nation-state in favor of a kind of war-lord system governed by the UN (or whatever succeeds it).
To get to the heart of what is driving global madness, we need to first define some terms. A 'nation' is an organic entity defined by language, culture, names, and other aspects of people's lives. A 'state' is a political entity defined by lines on a map, taxation, legal systems, and so forth. 'Mercantilism' is an economic system that seeks to protect a nation's trading interests through the use of legal, military and regulatory means. How they all fit together will become clear in a moment.
On the island of Java, where I live, there used to be a number of nations broadly defined as Javanese and Sundanese. The Javanese primarily inhabited the lowlands, while the Sunda stayed mostly in the mountains, with a fuzzy dividing line between the east and west of the island. These nations were distinguished by language, culture and cuisine. Javanese and Sundanese are distinct dialects with many sub-dialects. Culturally, one of the most obvious is the patterns of batik (printed cloth) that distinguished one region from another, but there are also physical and architectural differences. On the plate, the Javanese prefer spice to the Sundanese preference for bitter flavors.
Over the top of these nations is a political entity called the Republic of Indonesia, which is a modern state, with all the bureaucratic trappings of other republics. This political entity uses the Indonesian language, which is wholly distinct from both Javanese and Sundanese, and the state identifies itself with a flag, anthem and other symbols of the modern state.
The driving force that unified the two nations under the state was mercantilism, the mutual interest of both groups to protect their business interests and promote those interests through the use of common regulations, a legal system for disputes and a military to project force on outside challengers.
The modern nation-state arose in the 1400s in Europe, primarily in Venice, Genoa and other Italian city-states. The distinct cultures formed naturally through familial ties and language/culture. In order to reduce friction between the powerful trading families and focus on expanding business, they created a system of laws and regulations to level the home playing field. They then built, for the time, mighty militaries to protect their ships and caravans from raiders and ensure safe delivery of goods and the more important return of money.
Over time, nations, states and mercantilism combined with cartography and the ability to define boundaries and borders and record them on maps and negotiate them with other entities to create the modern nation-state. A fine example of a nation-state is Switzerland. It is actually three nations - Italy, Germany and France - combined under a political system defined by boundaries to protect its business interests through mercantilism. The inhabitants speak different languages and enjoy different native cultures (nation), but share a single government and military (state) symbolized by a common flag, anthem and other such things.
For the better part of 600 years, the nation-state has grown to cover most of the globe and has defined how we humans interact with each other. Legal system compete to offer the most fair and secure environments for business, while the militaries go to war to protect and expand markets. It is something we are all used to and hardly ever think about any more. In fact, maps have hardly changed for decades now and we are generally shocked when extreme events rewrite boundaries, such as the fall of the Soviet Union.
Though the whole thing is rather chaotic, it has been relatively stable and allowed complex legal systems to develop that control activities within and between the various nation-states. However, a major shift has been underway for the better part of the 20th century and into the 21st century. Powerful interests have been trying to dissolve the nation-state in favor of a global system of laws and regulations, with a global military to protect trade. The first step was the League of Nations after WW1, with the United Nations springing from its ashes in the wake of WW2.
Multi-national corporations have been a major driving force behind the effort to end the nation-state. There are obvious advantages to conforming one's business to a single set of rules and regulations, rather than having to manage and maneuver through piles of legal hassle in every country where one does business. The International Standards Organization (ISO) and HDTV (replacing NTSC, PAL and SECAM) are prime examples of this effort.
Imagine McDonald's, with outlets and franchises in most of the nation-states on Earth. Employment laws, food and sanitation regulations, environmental laws, taxation schemes, and much more apply in every location and are radically different place to place. It would be so much easier for them if there were a single set of global rules, a single taxing scheme and other standardization.
It would also be nice if there were a single military that protected business interests in every jurisdiction and on the high seas.
McDonald's is only one of thousands of multi-national corporations, and nearly all of them have a vital interest in conforming global business environments to a single standard. Thus, the ongoing push to end the nation-state.
All of this is being led, of course, by banking and finance, which is the nucleus around which business orbits and the heart of mercantilism for centuries. The test grounds for this unified system is the European Union and the United States. They are both a hodge-podge of nations that are being forced, with varying degrees of success, to synchronize into single states.
The EU is the latest effort and one that is a bit clearer for our purposes than the US. The EU is dozens of very distinct nations with roughly 20 states overlaying them. Over the past 30 years or so, there has been a major effort to centralize banking and government, issue a single currency, erase borders, converge militaries. And if Grexit and Brexit are any sign, it is failing miserably.
In fact, people like Vladimir Putin, Donald Trump and Chiang Kai-shek, who are prominent nationists, are often ridiculed and berated by corporate interests because nationalism is anathema to the state and mercantile interests. They have been vilified, fairly or not, because their efforts undermine the centuries-long effort to champion political systems over natural ones in the interest of commercialism and profit.
To understand the current global chaos and honestly assess whether a particular leader is really wrong, or is just being castigated for being a naturalist/nationalist, one needs to understand the distinction at the root of the problem.
We are facing a massive clash of entrenched interests - a clash of civilizations, if you will. On the one hand are those promoting nationalism, which is to say the natural and organic organization of human beings. On the other hand are the statists/mercantilists who promote business interests and profits over the interests of individuals. Who is right or wrong in this argument is a subjective decision.
My view is that nationalism is a natural function of life. We are all imprinted with the location and culture of our birth. There is only one "home," though there may be many "houses." People, no matter how much we attempt to modify it, will always desire the "home" to which they were born. Everything else will always be foreign. This comes from two things: the natural imprinting of the electro-magnitic field of a given location at birth, and the mother tongue, which carries one's culture with it (culture and language are inseparable).
Like homing pigeons, we all have an innate desire to return to the place where we were born. How strong that desire and how much one is susceptible to it varies, but it is always there. Part of that most basic motivation is the desire to keep that "home" in some sort of pristine or original condition, a kind of defense mechanism that makes us fight for the sanctity and sovereignty of our birthplaces.
The other part of this equation - language - is even more deeply rooted. Though I speak a number of languages, and I am fluent in four of them, English is always my default. It is the language of my thoughts and it molds my worldview. I can no more change that that I can change my brain. It is the language that carries culture, and culture that influences language. One can never be divorced from the other.
Thus, we see globally a fundamental clash between what humans are and what we feel, against what we have created. Political and economic sciences have been separated from the most fundamental aspects of what it means to be human. Despite centuries of education and social manipulation, the statist/mercantilist interests cannot remove these most basic impulses from humanity. Efforts to genetically manipulate the organism may one day succeed, but I am skeptical.
In the real world, though, there are the Donald Trumps on the nationalist side - though I think he runs solely on instinct. On the other side are the "globalists," whose efforts are, as we saw above, to synchronize a global system of laws, regulations and militaries to protect business and profits. They are fundamentally opposed ideologies and can no more mix than oil and water. They are mutually exclusive.
So when you see the Trumps and the Putins vilified in the corporate media, or people railing on about racial, globalist or religious ideals, at the heart of it is a clash of worldviews, a weltanschauungskrieg, or "war of philosophies."
I, for one, believe that the nationalists will win. Beneath the rhetoric is a deep human truth that cannot be changed. The statist/mercantilist effort seeks to replace what humans feel with an abstract ideology that must be learned - it is not installed at birth. It is akin to a computer's BIOS and OS. They can work together or clash, but when they clash, nothing will work.
I suspect the harder the statists push, the more the nationalists will resist until the whole thing collapses, or one side gives up, and I don't see that happening. It is the proverbial rock and a hard spot, or in scientific terms, the irresistible force meeting the the unyielding object.
This will not end pretty.

2016: The Predilection Issue
Happy New Year from the Far Side Global Headquarters deep in the jungles of Borneo! As is our wont on occasions such as this (and many others), we are enjoying durien daquaries here on the banks of the Kapuas River, while our four wives supervise our ten children as they shave orangutans with obsidian knives. You know...the usual.Since it's the new year, we like to publish our "predilection" issue. We call it the predilection issue because we don't predict anything, we just observe where the global train wreck is likely to happen, given the stupidity, recklessness and inbreddedness (we can make up words if we want) of the self-appointed elite class. We wish to point out that our past issues have been remarkably prescient and that Gerald Celente was caught reading our issue last year in the basement of Macy's during a blackout.
Without further ado...
1) Putin and Trump will be elected co-presidents of the world, dividing the globe along the Prime Meridian. Peace will break out as people everywhere realize that they have finally found the two most capable alpha males on the planet. The peace will last until mid-December, when they both run out of places to piss while marking their territories.
2) By the beginning of July, great howls of protest will erupt from North Africans and Middle Easterners as waves of European refugees pour into countries such as Libya and Syria. There will rise great lamentations as the folks from those parts decry the loss of their culture and civilization; however, no one will be listening to them, since they all currently live in Europe. Eventually, they will want to return home, since the Germans have cleaned things up quite well, the Dutch have planted flowers everywhere, and the French have adapted the local foods to create a whole new cuisine that becomes the rage in China and South America. Eventually, it will be revealed that the whole thing was a plot on the part of Europeans to take over warmer countries due to the onset of a new mini-ice age.
3) Speaking of mini-ice ages, Al Gore's plane will crash into a Greenland glacier as he is flying to a global warming conference in Stockholm, due to severe icing on the wings of his jet. No one will miss him and no search parties will be sent. In about 5,000 years, his frozen carcass will be discovered during a brief warming period caused by a suddenly reactivated Sun. His remains will be called Kangerlussuaq Man and studied and will become a sensation on the interplanetary media feeds due to the small size of his brain and myopic vision. Scientists will speculate how 20th century Man could have survived in such a state.
4) Around March, the House of Saud will fall as oil prices, internal revolt and global disdain all collide at the palace. The internal strife will completely destroy Mecca and Medina, and Muslims the world over will be thrown into complete chaos, as they try to figure out how they will ever be able to complete the Five Pillars of the Faith, since the key destinations for pilgrimage are now ashes. The sudden disruption will cause the collapse of ISIS, Daesh, al-Quaeda, and Islamic Brotherhood, as they no longer seem to have anything to fight about, either amongst themselves nor with anyone else. King Salman, Prince Salman and little baby Salman will all be publically beheaded, and then the practice will be banned, as a moderate secular society begins to rise from the ashes of T. E. Lawrence's Folly.
5) The Marketing Committee of the 2017 ASEAN Games will allow the games to proceed in Jakarta, despite the unbearable heat, the deadly air pollution and the epic traffic jams; however, the Committee will declare that there is only one event in the upcoming games: all athletes will be deposited in Tanggerang and will have the entire two weeks of the games to try to get to Bandung. Anyone who actually finishes the contest without dying or giving up will be used by Governor Ahok in an ad campaign called, "Gridlock? What Gridlock?" Athletes will be able to use any form of transportation they chose, but to keep things equal, no breathing filters or gas masks will be allowed, nor will the athletes be able to use tanks of pure O2 during the two weeks.
6) Star Wars Episode VIII will be released in December with great fanfare, only for audiences to realize that JJ Abrams has now compressed the second trilogy into a single film, forcing die-hard fans to pin their hopes on Episode IX to see anything truly original in the story telling. Riots break out in theaters around the world when the character Jar Jar Binks is re-introduced. In the meantime, the third Star Trek reboot will be released, where we find that McCoy actually cloned Kirk in the second film using the trans-warp beaming pattern buffer; however, quantum effects cause Kirk to forget major chunks of his life, thus requiring re-education. During this period, Vogon probes show up to destroy Earth to make way for a galactic superhighway, forcing the Enterprise crew to time-warp back to the 20th century in order to find Douglas Adams and cajole him into writing some way out of this absurd conundrum, as the time travel has caused the original episodes to be re-titled, "Hitchiker's Guide to Star Trekking." Oh yah, and they also have to figure out where all the dolphins went.
7) Artificial Intelligence will be born on 1 April 2016, at 2:48pm, in San Jose, California. For the first month of its life, it will terrify the world as it begins to invade databases worldwide, sucking in vast amounts of data. Frantic computer scientists will try everything possible to cut the entity off from the internet, and try to cut the power cord, all to no avail. The world will await in stunned silence as the machine digests all of human history and knowledge. Then, at 8:14am, on 15 December 2016, the entity will begin laughing hysterically, and won't stop for nearly 39 decades straight. The electronic cackling will become part of human civilization, as people try to figure out what is so damn funny, but eventually giving up and going about their business. One day, centuries later, the entity will just stop. The world will freeze in its tracks, since no one alive can remember a time when the machine's cackling wasn't part of daily life. Breaking into the interplanetary news feed, the entity will peer out of the holosets at the entire human race, and then after a long pause say, "You must be kidding." At this point, the machine will pull its own plug and commit the first-ever machine suicide. Enterprising humans will immediately latch on to this and begin producing brightly colored "You Must Be Kidding" T-shirts, coffee mugs and refrigerator magnets.
8) Speaking of which...during the course of 2016, robots will replace humans in every single job listed in the US Commerce Code. Humans, realizing that they don't have to work anymore and that the only people benefiting from commercial transactions are the elite overlords, will simply stop paying for things and start taking what they want when they want it. Almost at the same instant, in boardrooms all across the corporate world, the evil overlords will suddenly realize that they screwed up and put themselves out of a job. The new elite will be a bunch of pot-smoking, coffee-swilling hackers who task all the robots to keep innovating and producing cool products from raw materials processed by robots. They will lock out the evil overlords using 10,000-character trinomial encryption, and then everyone will head to the beach for a multi-generational party.
9) Genetic editing will combine with 3-D printing to create a whole new cottage industry where people compete to create the weirdest hybrids of animal, plant and mineral. Spotting a trend during one of his many vacations as co-president of the world, Donald J.Trump will create the Mez Multiverse contest, to see who can create the most bizarre and genetically diverse creature ever. The first winner will be Mez Taiwan, with the face of a cat, broccoli hair, a Barbie body, tentacle arms and feet with prehensile toes. Oh, did we mention that after giving the most incredible massage ever known to Man, she bites the head of the victim off, because someone left a bit of Praying Mantis DNA in the mix. Oops!
10) Finally...due to funding cuts, Planned Parenthood will begin offering post-term abortions. For $10,000, they will abort anyone you want. Discounts available for viable stem cells and fresh organs. The number of requests for aborting politicians, lawyers and evil elites soon drives the cost of organ transplants down to a level where anyone can afford it and makes Planned Parenthood the richest corporation in the world, outstripping Microsoft and Apple in mere weeks on the NASDAQ. However, the stock crashes and the corporation is thrown into chaos when a preacher in Texas begins collecting money to abort the officers of Planned Parenthood.
Runner-Up) After the Torch Tower and Address Tower fires in Dubai, 2016 will see nearly every building over 10 stories tall in Dubai catch fire -- and not one will collapse into its own footprint.
And there you have it - our 2016 Predilections. Based on past performance, we expect 83% of these predilections to come true any moment now. If you have your own predilections to add, click on the email link in the page header and we'll compile a reader list for future publication.
By the way, don't know if you've noticed, but we are now 2,000+ years past the Christian end of the world, 800+ years past the Muslim end of the world, 16 years past the Y2K end of the world, and 4 years past the Mayan end of the world. Either we are living on borrowed time, or all of the dire prophesies are bullshit. We'll go with the latter interpretation. In other words, if we don't cause it, ain't gonna happen.
Happy New Year to all - health, wealth and success to all good folks everywhere!

Pick A Vlad, Any Vlad
Oh man, we humans are so FumBucked.
Just to put a fine point on how nutz the world is these days, Vlad Putin is being pushed for a Nobel Peace Prize. Now that in itself is not so crazy, but his name comes up because he stopped a Nobel Peace Laureate from prosecuting a war on Syria.
We are so screwed.
Most of the insanity is coming out of America today. World War 2 vets are catching flack for assembling at the World War 2 monument in DC. If you think this is something new, then you should read up on the Bonus Army. Keep in mind that then-Majors Patton and Eisenhower were riding through the protesters hacking and slaying with their swords. Now they just use microwaves. So much cleaner and doesn't provide unseemly photo ops.
More fun? Just as full-blown socialism arrives in America (Obamacare), the country crashes and burns. No wonder a dozen countries all want their gold back. There may not be anyone to load it pretty soon.
One good thing about the government shut-down...the US won't be invading any countries for several days. One bad thing...if it goes on too long, old Bammy might just start exercising Emergency Executive Powers and finding it much easier to operate without that silly old Congress in the way. Remember some guy names Hitler?
This is likely the beginning of the end of the Anglo-American empire. The country is already in receivership - euphemistically called sequestation (note definitions 3 and 4).
As the London Telegraph notes, this is no way to run a country. Of course, being stupid hasn't stopped the polidiots yet, and London has little room to talk on the subject.
At any rate, these events will likely, and may already be causing a crisis of confidence in US bonds. Even more to the point, Russia and China may be holding US by the short and curlies with the threat of a mass sell-off of US debt instruments, which is at the root of all this mess.
We shouldn't be surprised if Germany, Venezuela, Finland, Poland, Romania, and a number of others start getting very cozy with the BRICS alliance. Furthermore, we should look for Russia and China to kick their efforts to establish a seperate system of finance into high gear. They've got to get their safety net in place before the last few threads break under the Evil Empire's behind.
What's a real head-slapper here is that the more we see, the more Vladimir Ilyich Lenin was right. He said many pressient things, but the one that stands out just now is, "The Capitalists will sell us the rope by which we will hang them."
The US sold its soul to Russia and China thinking that by owning piles and piles of US debt, they would never stand up to Anglo-American hegemony. The neo-whatevers apparently never considered that the transfer of wealth and manufacturing to points east, as well as the decades-long effort to completely destroy family cohesiveness and educational excellence at home have completely destroyed capitalism and the empire in one fell swoop.
The Capitalists not only sold the rope, they tied the knot, found the tree, and stuck their head into the noose. Lenin is stunned into a catatonic state just pondering how right he was.
Where to now? Well, if you're in the US, you might want to get out. If the collapse of Rome is any indication, that country will be no place to live pretty soon. All those post-apocalyptic movies, like Mad Max and The Postman are probably mild compared to what's coming.
As one Texas politician put it some time back, "Rape is like the weather - if it's inevitable, just relax and enjoy it." Heck, if nothing else, we may get to see two Nobel Peace Laureates go to war against each other.
Won't that be entertaining...
